Can Anyone Recommend A Good Therapist?

Trent decided YESTERDAY after reviewing our Dish bill that we were no longer going to have Satellite T.V. anymore. WHAT? Really? Does he not know that every reality T.V. show I have been watching for the past 2 month are all coming to there finale in the next two weeks. (I'm too embarrassed to even tell you how many shows that is...a lot.) He has this crazy reasoning that we can save over $600 a year if we blah blah blah blah.... I'm going to spend that much this year in therapy, extra D.C. intake, entertaining 5 kids this summer, renting movies etc. He asked me if I was mad at him and I said no, 'cause what kinda a jerk would be mad at her husband for trying to save his family some money and "wanting to spend more time as a family doing other things then watching T.V." The other thing that sucks is we live were you can't even get the cheap basic cable stuff or one of those 1960's T.V. antennas to work. So my only solution/resolution...bumb T.V. off of friends. It's going to be long summer.

Oh, and Trent...I'm not mad! Love you.

You know, you can watch most of them on line!

Umm, I am sort of on Trents side of this argument. I would love to get rid of TV at our house. I am sick everytime I have to pay the bill. There are a few things I would miss at first but then I would be okay.

Use hulu.com to watch shows. They usually have most shows about a day after they are air on TV.

Good Luck!! :)

That's like when Queen Attolia cut off Gen's hand, but he still loved her anyway. A-mazing.

Hopefully you can get all of the results for your shows off your computer. Don't let him near your internet bill!

You can watch most of the popular TV shows online. I'm ready to cancel our DISH, but Sam is digging in his heels. But it's $75 a MONTH, and there still isn't anything that's really worth the time it takes to watch it. I watch Dancing w/the Stars (which i could watch on www.abc.com), Chuck (it's on www.nbc.com) and Ugly Betty (also on www.abc.com). Or you can get most of them on www.hulu.com. I watch House too, but it's on fox and they don't post it until 8 days after the episode airs.

you could watch almost every show there is for free on Hulu.com. I love it because I can watch my favorite shows whenever I want.

awww I'm sorry. You know I feel your pain. I still feel a bit dead inside since we turned off our cable. You'll for sure go through withdrawals...maybe even years later...like me. But you'll be ok and like everyone said you can get most shows on hulu or on the stations website. It just sucks to have to watch at a computer instead of the comfort of the couch but oh well. Hang in there!

I got one of those free digital converter boxes that they've been advertising for months, cuz it was free. I'll put it in the mail to you. You'll still need to get an antenna but it will work. I hooked it up to check it out and you can get HDTV and other digital channels. You just have to aim your antenna towards a big city. I recommend a powered antenna from Radio Shack. Online works too. Unless Trent decides you don't need internet.

OWWWWWWCH. We did it for a couple years and we survived. Maybe you can compromise by geting him to take you out to a movie once a month or something to make it hurt so much less.

High handed indeed! But I suspect if you really wanted your Dish, he'd agree to keep it. You can do it! I go through phases when I barely watch any TV at all, and go days without turning it on. Usually in between seasons. OMG, I just realized you're gonna miss SYTYCD this summer!!!

Tell you to cut corners somewhere else. Hit him where it hurts. No more soda, or no more candy, or no more deodorant. Those are my vices, you will have to fill in the blanks with his.

I. Would. Die.

Come over anytime sister.

Anna Lee, I'm soooo sorry! Everyone seems to have some good ideas, though. I lean towards cutting back somewhere else. What is his vice? At the least let him know he will have to fill in the time with talking about feelings. That would work for most men!

PS. Wow! a lot of people feel your pain!

OOOH, I almost forgot, that even though you'll be cutting back on the cost, you might find that your spending more money going out and doing stuff to get past the boredom of no tv...I'm just saying.

I would be sooooooooo mad!!!! Anytime Morgan complains about our cable bill, I pull out the bank statements and show how much he spend on crap and how little I do. I need my t.v.

We just did that. I can recommend a super huge antenna that will work out here it has to be on top of your house pointed north west but it works!
Happy Mothers Day! Miss you. I am using my free mothers day to blog...I've missed it.

The cable/satellite bills go to supporting so much junk. Think about all the sleaze that you don't want your kids to happen upon - you are paying for that! We will never buy that stuff until they offer a'la carte channel choices (where you can just pick & pay for the channels you want).

I can always suggest some great books!

My kids would die.

I would die.

I'm just being honest here.

But, props to you for supporting your hubby. He's a good man. Come on over anytime...especially since S.Y.T.Y.C.D. is starting THIS MONTH!
